This is no big surprise.
I met a prominent Arab journalist who has just written a book on the Iraq war. He said that each day there are 6 or 7 suicide bombers in Iraq- and they're not all wahabis- some are former baathists, many are foreigners. When you consider this, it becomes apparent that the Iraq war is fertile breeding ground for terrorist recruiters.
I often invoke the words left by the London bomber, Mohammed Siddique Khan, as a stark reminder of just how powerful the Militant Islamist message of a "war against Islam" is on vulnerable minds. He says "your people are killing my Muslim brothers and sisters..." This is a second generation British guy of Pakistani background speaking- he's not referring to his Muslim brothers and sisters in Pakistan now is he? He's talking about Iraq.
