Bloggers and human rights activists have called for an anti-torture protest tomorrow Thursday 25 January, 4pm, in front of the Press Syndicate, to celebrate “Egyptian Police Day.”

وقفة ضد التعذيب والانتهاك في عيد الشرطة

Participants are urged to bring along banners, posters, and photos of Mubarak’s police torture victims.

This photo became iconic! I found this one on HRW’s website:
Do you know who took it?

yes it is quite a nice picture isn’t it. Where did it first appear I wonder?

Wait, I know, it first appeared in Cairo Times in the issue following the March 20, 2003 anti-war riots, the photo was taken by Matthew Carrington.

I think it may be published first time in Cairo magazine after March 2003 demonstration in Tahrir square .

Incidentally, this demo should take place in front of Lazoughly, not the press syndicate. I know I’m not the one who’s going to get beat up and all that, but these press syndicate demos are getting boring. I also think you might get more media attention that way.
