The National Union of Journalists has voted at its annual meeting for a boycott of Israeli goods as part of a protest against last year’s war in Lebanon.

dude, i don’t think the british journos would want to be associated with latuff’s cartoon
Do you have some survey, I haven’t seen, conducted among British journalists on what do they think of Latuff’s cartoons? Please email it to me.

most NUJ members do not agree with the boycott; it is one sided and disproportionate.
Why not boycott China over human rights, Russia over Chechnya, Sudan over Dafur? I could go on.
And why not boycott Syria, Iran or Egypt over their lack of a free press and jailing of journalists that do not support their regimes?
I must say that your cartoon equating the murder of 6 million Jewish men women and children with a the Israel Palestinian conflict is once again disproportionate and weakens your argument. It is characteristic of the far right racists we have in Britain, ones that would attack you for the colour of your skin, ones that would have pleasure beating you up because you are not white.
I suggest you read Martin Gilbert’s book on the Holocaust and if you publish the same cartoon or make similar comparisons you will have not understood a thing.
