I spoke with Mohamed el-Attar four hours ago, and he said that the transfer decree was cancelled by the company management today.
Attar added that the government has come under strong pressure from international labor organizations and local activists, and “that’s why I am staying in Mahalla and will not be moved to Alexandria tomorrow. I am very happy to know there are those cared about my case outside Mahalla, in Egypt and abroad.”

I personally would like to thank all the activists and labor unionists who emailed messages of support from Australia, Europe and the US. You clearly demonstrate Attar and his colleagues are not alone in this fight, and that they are part of a bigger global battle by the working class against Neo-Liberalism…
