I am Egyptian and live in the US. My son is a Senior in High School now (thanaweya ama). I just found out that one of his sweet friends is going to be a Marine. He was recruited, and fell for it. He is just like my own son, and I am saddened. His answer to me when I told him not to do that was ” Do I have any other option?”. When you are economically disadvantaged, joining the Army and the Marines seems like the best option. His parents can’t pay for school, even though he is brilliant. When you are 18, you think you’re invincible. Death, no. Not me. Sad. Our kids from all over the world are dying by the thousandsr.
