Mabrouk Mabrouk Mabrouk… The Mahalla 3 are home with their families
Published by Hossam el-Hamalawy June 1st, 2008 in Activism, Breaking News, Egypt مصر, Human Rights حقوق إنسان, Labor عمال, Left يسار, Police شرطةI couldn’t blog about it earlier, since I was outside the house.. Our three comrades (Kamal el-Fayoumi, Tarek Amin and Kareem el-Beheiri) have arrived safely in their homes after they were released from State Security Police’s custody…
We still have Mohamed Maree, James Buck’s translator, left behind still in prison, together with a number of Mahalla citizens… Maree was transferred yesterday, according to a phone call from Socialist lawyer Ahmad Ezzat and a blog posting by Buck, to the Mansoura Prison, where he’ll be allowed to take the rest of his university exams. Mohamed already missed at least one, thanks to the detention decree by General Habib el-Adly, Mubarak’s Torturer-In-Chief…
UPDATE: More details about the released detainees at the HMLC blog…

What good news! Thanks for the update. I wish Kareem, Kamal and Tareq a happy and safe return home and back to health.
For what to do next for those still behind bars, check http://jameskarlbuck.com/?p=46 I invite everyone to call the Interior Minister and check up on the justice process.
Of course we know that just because Kareem and co. are home doesn’t mean they are safe from police harrassment, so we’ll keep an eye on them as well.
Congratulations men!!
it was a great joy >
their is another thing now happening in alex that the workers of elamria textile company are striking
they’ve been on a strike for a week>
we thought if we could deliver to them any solidarity letters from their fellow workers from any place of the world that would raise their powers
if u could help that would be graet>
thank you in advance
