Ethiopian “liberators” kill 4 Somali protestors

Rioting swept the Somali capital Mogadishu today. Hundreds of demonstrators chanted against Ethiopian troops, and set fire to rubber tyres. The Ethiopian soldiers opened live ammunition, killing at least four, including 12-year-old (other reports said he was 13), and injuring at least 10 others…

Egypt “understands” Ethiopia’s Somali intervention
SHARM EL SHEIKH, Jan 4 - Egypt said on Thursday it understood why Ethiopia intervened militarily against Islamists in Somalia, despite an earlier Arab consensus that Ethiopian troops should withdraw.

Egyptian presidential spokesman Suleiman Awad said President Hosni Mubarak stated the Egyptian position at a meeting with Ethiopian Foreign Minister Seyoum [...]
