1918 historical footage of Leon Trotsky as People’s Commissar for Foreign Affairs (negotiating the Brest-Litovsk Treaty with the Germans), and as commander of the Red Army (Civil War), then later at the XII Communist Party Congress receiving a standing ovation for his speech calling for greater party democracy.

I read about this before I went to sleep last night, and sure put me in a bad mood.
