Nour update
If Condoleeza Rice told Egyptian Foreign Minister Aboul Gheit about her “strong concerns” about the Ayman Nour affair, why isn’t it in the official transcript?

Here’s a Chicago Tribune story that actually addresses the issue. The reporters took Aboul Gheit’s cryptic statements to mean than Nour may be released soon, but the article doesn’t really seem to bear that out.

Just watched the thing. She did say it. The transcript is heavily truncated, as the whole thing is over 13 minutes long.
She emphasized “very” strong concerns.

I’ve now seen stories say she addressed the issue. I never doubted that she said it, just wondered why the official transcript makes no ereference to it. A couple of stories I’ve seen suggest Aboul Gheit said Nour will be released soon.
