Cairo Magazine banned again
The 20th issue of Cairo Magazine has been banned by Egyptian censors. It is the third issue to be banned in the magazine’s short history. Censors said that the offending passage came in the article about last Saturday’s demonstrations titled “Anti-Mubarak protesters violently beaten by police.” The offending line was this quote from one demonstrator:
“Down with the rule of the dog Mubarak.”

Well I wouldn’t say I’m surprised. How dare you quote such horrible words against our most beloved president. I mean honestly if he were to happen upon the issue one day and see the quote, he might have a heart attack. To discover after 24 years of serving his best beloved people that some one hates him or called him a name, that just might break his heart. You should only quote nice things about him, everyone else are traitors anyways and are trying to appear as true Egyptians.
On the other hand I think somebody should tell him that the pictures published in the papers are usually old and the wrinckles on his face are starting to make him look like a bull dog. The protestor didn’t actually mean an insult but was discribing what he think the president looks like.

So will they allow the issue to come out if you remove the word? I think its worth removing.

Thank God for the internet. wonder how long it will take the “intelligence” goons to figure out how to block the online magazine. Hope the journalists don’t suffer repercussions but you’d better be checking your passports and exit visas…

I think that the authorities banned the issue as some dogs complained of such unfair equality.

Sawt al-Umma had a small story about banning of cairo times (sic).
they met with hisham qasim and he told them about charles being deported earlier leaving them speculating that the magazine was banned because charles wrote the cover story.
