A small announcement

I'd like to extend a warm welcome to my friend Charles Levinson, who will be posting regularly from now on. Charles has lived in Cairo for several years and worked as journalist for tons of different publications. He's also an accomplished arabist.

Hopefully Charles' take on things will bring some diversity to the blog, which was never meant to be a one-person effort. We agree on many things, and I'll be taking him on in the comments when we don't agree. Join in on the fun.
