If you don't call that censorship...

A play about Rachel Corrie, the American activist run over by a bulldozer and killed while protesting house demolitions in Gaza, was cancelled just days before it was planned to start playing in New York. You can read the two sides of the argument here and here. I know which one I find more convincing.


Ursula Lindsey

Ursula Lindsey is the managing editor of the Arabist blog. She writes about culture, education and politics in the Arab world. She lived in Cairo from 2002 to 2013 and got her start at the ground-breaking independent magazine Cairo Times.
