- Ibn Yaaqub Al-Amriki: Egypt's Top Judge - Someone's caught on to the fact that Zakaria Abdel Aziz, the renegade Egyptian judge, is an Islamo-populist. I remember hearing him speak after the MB (rightly, courageously) defended the judges in 2006 and being astounded by his hyper-religious speech. But then again I never thought we should expect too much from Egyptian judges.

- The Associated Press: Gadhafi: nations competing to sell arms to Libya - Interesting Qadhafi line from the end of that story: "Everything that is happening now was written in the Green Book 30 years ago already," Gadhafi said at a news conference in the Ukrainian capital. "And the Green Book says that dark-skinned people will rule the world."
- Welcome to My World, Barack - An Exit Interview with Condoleezza Rice - Interview - NYTimes.com - Condi Rice's advice to Obama on democracy promotion: "The Egyptians know that their next election is going to be an important transitional election.
